On my way to Ephrata I got to visit my Granddaughter Patience and her daughter Shannon. When I finally showed up she was practicing her artistic skills. Better known as keeping her busy until grandpa shows up....he's late. She's a big eater that like a little eggs and potatoes with her ketchup. Her step cousin Logan says, "That's good bacon" She has a place in my heart already! Just like her mom! She is showing me her leaf and her pretty dress! Sad that our visit has to end, but I'll get to see them at least one more time before I head home for good. We had breakfast near my old neighborhood so took a picture of my old house. All of those trees and shrubs were just sprigs when I planted then 26 years ago. When I planted that trumpet vine I didn't think it was going to survive for the first three months, look at it now! 107 degrees on my ride to Ephrata. Penny and I were sitting on the patio looking up at these cherries. She thought they were orange berries so I took a picture. I'm still not positive and I'm too old to climb that monster! So then she wanted a picture of a monarch butterfly I can tell you those suckers are hard to catch sitting still. All things come to those that wait! I needed to go to Cycle Gear for a new face shield for my helmet. On the way I noticed that there are homeless camps just about everywhere you look. Some were somewhat organized and some weren't I was surprised at the friendly welcome I received. Some had decent cars Most were busy talking on their cell phones I guess they have never heard of trash cans. Maybe they adhere to the old saying that one mans trash is another mans treasure. He seems to be looking for something. It seemed like quite a few women were there too.

I've ridden all over this area, but today I'm finding roads I haven't ridden before. This is Eagle Lake just north of Susanville, CA but viewed from the west and less travelled side. Such Beauty! om Some friends paid me a surprise visit. I was taught to always keep the place clean, you never know when unexpected guest will arrive. There sure are a lot of lakes up here that are ten to twenty miles in length. There were several of these rolls of fencing alongside of the road. I reminded me of an encounter I had with one at 70 mph back in NC. Even though I have been know to off-road the Wing on an occasion or two, I repressed the impulse today! My first view of Mount Shasta approaching from the East These always bring back good memories to me. 11:00 AM and I'm finally stopping for breakfast. Sign said Viewpoint Telephoto proves it! I must admit, I enjoye
